A public transformer (10kV/380V) in a residential distribution network in a certain area of Germany has a serious three-phase current imbalance during peak hours. This leads to the transformer noise increase and loss increase and other adverse effects, it is urgent to take measures to improve the unbalanced situation of three-phase load, to solve the problem of single-phase overload and voltage substandard caused by imbalance. ARK provided its advanced three-phase unbalance compensation solution for the project.
ARK provided them with ASVG, which specifically addresses three-phase imbalances, based on its unique power electronics technology and intelligent control algorithms that monitor three-phase current in real time and precisely compensate for the imbalance.
Prior to the installation of ARK's three-phase unbalance compensation device, the three-phase current of the system was monitored in detail. The monitoring data show that the three-phase current imbalance is extremely serious, in which the B phase current is as high as 149.5A, while the C phase current is only 13.1A.
After ARK's three-phase unbalance compensation device is installed and put into operation, the three-phase current of the system is monitored again. The results show that the unbalance of the three-phase current is significantly improved, and the phase current tends to be balanced. This fully proves that ARK's compensation device can effectively reduce the three-phase load imbalance of public transformers, successfully alleviate the single-phase overload problem caused by load imbalance, and also help to stabilize the system voltage and improve the power quality of the entire residential distribution network.
