ARK has been providing a range of key components for power factor correction (PFC) and Power quality solutions (PQS) for many years.
In the past, most user loads were linear, i.e. when they were connected to a sinusoidal voltage, the current was also sinusoidal. At the same time, the use of power electronics has increased significantly. These devices are often non-linear, i.e. when connected to a sinusoidal voltage, they generate a non-sinusoidal current, which can cause problems for other devices.
In addition to passive filters, active harmonic filters are increasingly used, especially in situations where the power factor is close to 1 and harmonic interference changes frequently.
The AHF series is an active harmonic filtering system designed to eliminate harmonic oscillations, thereby reducing costs. They monitor the current signal and compensate for unwanted components in the measured current. Therefore, the filter ensures that harmonic suppression is independent of the number of loads. It also corrects the power factor, improving system efficiency while reducing harmonic pollution.
